Service description
Elastx DBaaS lets you create managed databases entirely under Swedish regulations. Our platform uses open source or widely adopted databases without modifications. This means that you can move your solution to any platform that meets the same requirements. No lock-in! The platform is designed to offer high availability and disaster protection. We take care of the basic operation of the platform so that you can focus on delivering benefits to your customers.
Scope
The service includes self-service functionality for deploying, scaling and removing datastores. The Datastores are monitored and updated including the underlying operating system. We fix service issues according to our support SLA.
The customer is responsible for using the database according to best practices including optimizing requests and database structure to handle the workload.
Access
When a Datastore is deployed there is a single database and database user configured. The customer is responsible for creating the required additional databases and users.
Network access is blocked by default. It is the customer responsibility to allow access in the firewall functionality for the required sources.
Backup and recovery
The backup and recovery functionality is included in the service. All backups are stored in Elastx object storage which is secured by storing the data in three copies spread over the region's availability zones (data centers). Elastx is responsible for the backup and recovery functionality and the customer is responsible for adjusting the schedule and retention according to their requirements. The customer is also responsible for the data recovery by using the DBaaS restore function.
Scalability
The service includes a way to add and replace nodes to Datastore clusters. This will enable customers to increase or decrease capacity
